From Phnom Penh to Every Province: Building Cambodia's Future Through Scholarships, Purpose, and Partnership
The BCAAC x YUVACHUN Youth Opportunity Roadshow 2026 marked the soft launch of a nationwide campaign to bring scholarships, mentorship, and career guidance to all 25 provinces of Cambodia.

"Every young Cambodian deserves not only the opportunity to dream, but also the guidance, network, and confidence to turn those dreams into reality." — Lydet PIDOR, President, British Chevening Alumni Association of Cambodia (BCAAC)
On a vibrant Saturday morning in Phnom Penh, university students, recent graduates, and young professionals from different backgrounds came together with a shared aspiration—to better understand and navigate their future.
The BCAAC x YUVACHUN Youth Opportunity Roadshow 2026, hosted at the Australian International School Phnom Penh (AISPP), was far more than a typical scholarship information session. It became a supportive, open space where young people could reflect on their ambitions, explore diverse academic and career pathways, connect with mentors, and gain practical guidance for pursuing opportunities both in Cambodia and on the regional and international stages.
For many participants, the event offered a rare and invaluable experience: the chance to speak directly with returned scholarship alumni, receive personalized feedback on their CVs, ask practical questions about international study, and think deeply about how their personal values connect to their future career paths.
This workshop marked the beginning—and a successful soft launch—of a much larger, highly strategic national movement.

A National Youth Education Campaign
Building on the momentum of this initial Phnom Penh workshop, BCAAC and YUVACHUN are collaborating to launch a comprehensive National Youth Education Campaign running from January to March 2027. This movement will bring scholarship awareness, personal development tools, career guidance, and global opportunities directly to young Cambodians across the country.
The campaign is designed to be highly inclusive. We aim to visit all 25 provinces and Phnom Penh, working directly with local universities while remaining entirely open to the public. This ensures that students, graduates, teachers, parents, and young professionals can all participate and benefit.
Through a combination of in-person provincial events and digital engagement, the campaign is structured to reach thousands of young people physically and virtually. We believe that access to growth and education should not be limited by geography.
Our core vision is simple: Opportunity should never depend on where you were born.
"Talent is found in every province, but opportunity is not always equally accessible. Our mission is to bridge that gap by bringing scholarships, mentorship, career guidance, and global opportunities directly to young Cambodians wherever they are. When we invest in young people, we invest in Cambodia's future." — Lydet PIDOR, President, BCAAC

More Than Scholarships
While international scholarships are a crucial component of this campaign, the initiative goes much deeper. We are focused on equipping youth with a well-rounded toolkit to navigate an increasingly connected world.
Through this campaign, participants will explore:
- Global Scholarship Pathways: Sourcing opportunities from the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Hungary, Japan, China, the United States, and other global destinations.
- Personal Goal-Setting: Learning the art of life planning, defining personal values, and building resilience.
- Major & Career Discovery: Aligning academic interests with future career pathways and economic market demands.
- Mentorship: Engaging directly with experienced practitioners and Chevening alumni across various industries.
- Practical Readiness: Gaining hands-on guidance on CV writing, professional interview techniques, and scholarship application strategies.
- Confidence Building: Developing soft skills through interactive networking and collaborative learning activities.

Ultimately, the campaign is designed to help young Cambodians answer three fundamental questions:
1. Who am I becoming?
2. What should I study?
3. How can I access opportunities that allow me to contribute meaningfully to Cambodia and the wider world?

A Collaborative National Movement
This campaign is built entirely on the power of collaboration.
The British Chevening Alumni Association of Cambodia (BCAAC) contributes the leadership, diverse expertise, and first-hand experiences of returned Chevening scholars, sharing practical knowledge of international education and professional development.
YUVACHUN brings its vibrant youth community, grassroots mobilization, and nationwide engagement, creating meaningful and welcoming spaces for young people to connect, learn, and grow.

Conversations and connections
"At YUVACHUN, we believe that empowering youth requires strong partnerships and active community engagement. By connecting local youth with experienced mentors and academic pathways, we are helping them build the confidence to lead, innovate, and contribute back to Cambodia's development." — Kaliane TEA, President, YUVACHUN KH
Together, both organizations are actively working with universities, development partners, scholarship providers, private-sector leaders, and government stakeholders. Our goal is to build a collaborative, sustainable ecosystem that supports Cambodia's next generation of talent.

Looking Ahead
The Phnom Penh workshop at the Australian International School Phnom Penh (AISPP) was a wonderful beginning, but it is just the first step.

Over the coming months, the BCAAC and YUVACHUN teams will continue refining our curriculum, strengthening our network of partners, and finalizing logistics for the nationwide campaign kickoff in January 2027.

Our hope is that every stop along this journey will inspire young people to dream bigger, prepare better, and believe that world-class opportunities are within their reach. As we continue this journey, we invite universities, embassies, development organizations, companies, alumni, and volunteers to join us in building a stronger future for Cambodia's youth.
Together, we can create a generation that is not only academically prepared, but purpose-driven, globally connected, and committed to creating positive change.
